The calculation of the magnetothermal characteristics and magnetocaloric effect in YFe3 and HoFe3 compounds is performed with respect to temperature and magnetic field variations. These properties were the subject of investigation, utilizing both the two-sublattice mean field model and the WIEN2k code for first-principles DFT calculation. The two-sublattice mean-field theoretical approach was applied to compute the temperature- and field-dependent magnetization, magnetic heat capacity, magnetic entropy, and isothermal entropy change (Sm). With the WIEN2k code, we determined the elastic constants, and these allowed us to calculate the values for bulk and shear moduli, the Debye temperature, and the electronic density of states at the Fermi energy. Predicting with the Hill model, YFe3 is approximated to have a bulk modulus of 993 GPa and a shear modulus of 1012 GPa. In conjunction with an average sound speed of 4167 meters per second, the Debye temperature is 500 Kelvin. When assessing Sm, the trapezoidal method was applied in magnetic fields up to 60 kOe, and at temperatures above or equivalent to the Curie point for both substances. Approximately 0.08 J/mol and 0.12 J/mol are the respective highest Sm values for YFe3 and HoFe3 under 30 kOe conditions. K, and respectively. The adiabatic temperature change in a 3 Tesla magnetic field decreases at approximately 13 K/T for the Y system, and 4 K/T for the Ho system. The temperature and field-dependent behavior of the magnetothermal and magnetocaloric properties of Sm and Tad demonstrates a second-order phase transition, specifically the transformation from ferro (or ferrimagnetic) to paramagnetic. Further calculations of the Arrott plots and the universal curve for YFe3, and their subsequent analysis, provide compelling evidence for the second-order character of the phase transition.

The role of type IA topoisomerases in DNA topology management involves the enzymatic cleavage of single-stranded DNA to relax negative supercoiling. Analyzing the directional asymmetry of gonad length in 20 moray eel species (Muraenidae) and two outgroup species is the focus of this study, using a sample of 2959 individuals. Our study examined three hypotheses concerning moray eel gonad length: (1) moray eel species did not show directional asymmetry in their gonad lengths; (2) the directional asymmetry pattern was consistent for each of the species chosen; (3) there was no correlation between directional asymmetry and the species' major habitat types, depth, size classes, or taxonomic relatedness. In the Muraenidae species studied, Moray eels demonstrated a consistent right-gonadal pattern, where the right gonad's length was definitively and consistently greater than the left. Species displayed a spectrum of asymmetry levels, with no appreciable association with their taxonomic closeness. Habitat types, depth, and size classes exhibited an intertwined impact on observed asymmetry, yet no clear pattern emerged. A noteworthy and frequently observed phenomenon in the Muraenidae family is the directional asymmetry of gonad length, likely a byproduct of their evolutionary past, without demonstrably compromising survival.
