Extracellular activity within rats' left LC was measured while 11 VNS paradigms, encompassing a range of frequencies and bursting characteristics, were administered to the left cervical vagus in a pseudorandom order for five cycles. The alteration in the baseline firing rate and timing responses of neurons were examined.
